How do I connect / pair my first frame?

Please ensure that you have completed the steps described in the quick start guide and your frame is displaying its 16-digital serial number.

  1. Open the My Frames section either via the menu or the app's home screen and the app will start searching for any frames waiting to pair.
  2. Tap the Pair button shown next to the frame waiting to pair and follow the on screen instructions.

If your frame is not discovered please ensure your frame and mobile are connected to the same WiFi network. If you are still having trouble tap the Enter Serial Number option under the 'Search again' button and follow the on screen instructions

How do I send my first photo to my frame?

Photos are sent to your frame using playlists. To help you get started we have created a playlist for you named "My Playlist" and have automatically assigned it to your frame. For more info checkout the Albums and Playlists help section.

  1. Tap Send photos from the home screen, select from either Camera or your Photo Library.
  2. Once you have taken your photo or chosen one or more photos from your camera roll, the next screen will provide an option to add a caption to your photos.
  3. Tap the Add photos to Playlist button and your photo(s) will begin uploading to the playlist that was automatically created for you.

Your photo(s) should appear on your frame in just a few moments.

Note: If you have more than one playlist or have added some friends to your account then after you tap the Add photos to Playlist button you will be able to choose which playlist and/or friends you want to send the photo(s) to.

Sending Photos

How do I send photos to my frame(s)?

Photos are sent to your frame using playlists. Photos sent to playlists that have not been added to a frame will not be displayed.
  1. Tap Send photos from the home screen, select from either Camera or your Photo Library.
  2. Once you have taken your photo or chosen one or more photos from your camera roll, the next screen will provide an option to add a caption to your photos.
  3. Tap the Add photos to Playlist or Continue button (which ever is shown).
  4. Choose the playlist(s) you wish to send the photos to and tap the Send Photos button.

Your photo(s) should appear on your frame in just a few moments.

If you only have one playlist and no friends on your account you will not see the playlist/friend selection screen.

How do I send a photo(s) to a friend?

Please ensure that you have invited one or more friends to your account. See the 'Friends' help section for more information.
  1. Open the menu and tap Friends
  2. Select which friends you would like to send your photo(s) to by tapping the circle against their name.
  3. Tap the Send photos button. (bottom)
  4. Choose the Camera, Photo Library or Nixplay Album.

      1. Take or choose your photo(s)
      2. Add a caption (optional) and then tap Send to friends
    • Nixplay Album:
      1. Select the Album you wish to send photos from.
      2. Select the Photos you wish to send and tap the Send to friends button

How can I see who has sent me photos?

From the app’s home screen, tap the Activity Feed icon in the top right-hand corner. The name of the person and number of photos that they have sent should be displayed in chronological order, newest first.

Tap on any of the images displayed in the activity feed to view, comment or delete them.

Can I send photos to my frame and friends at the same time?

Yes, once you have added one or more friends to your account follow the instructions below:

  1. Tap Send photos from the home screen, select from either Camera or your Photo Library.
  2. Once you have taken your photo or chosen one or more photos from your camera roll, the next screen will provide an option to add a caption to your photos.
  3. Tap the Continue button
  4. You will now see a combined view of playlists and friends. Choose the playlist(s) and/or Friends you wish to send the photos to and tap the Send Photos button.

How many photos can I send at one time?

The current limit for the number of photos that can be sent at once is 100.

Please note that on some Android devices this limit may be lower due to device constraints.

Why am I not seeing photos sent from a friend(s) on my frame?

If people in your friends list are sending you photos but they are not appearing on your frame there are several things to check.

  1. Are the photos from your friend getting to your Nixplay account?

    To check this from the app home screen tap the Activity Feed icon in the top right corner. Have a look for the friend in question, you should see an entry with their name and the number of photos they have sent.

    If you can see the photos proceed to step 2, otherwise see the Friends help section for help on adding friends.
  2. Do you have a playlist assignment for that friend?

    In order for photos sent from a friend to appear on your frame they need to be assigned to a playlist. To check this go to the main menu and select Friends. Tap edit and then tap the edit button next to the friend in question. You should now see a section with a drop-down to select which playlist photos from that friend will go to.

    If your playlist assignment for your friend is correct please proceed to step 3
  3. Is your playlist assigned to your frame?

    The last thing to check is that your playlist has been set to show on your frame. From the app home screen tap on My Frames and then tap on the frame that is not displaying the photos. Tap on the playlist icon (middle) and make sure that the toggle for the playlist we verified in step 2 has been set to Show.

    If your photos are still not showing up on your frame after following the above steps then please contact our Customer Service team and they will be happy to help.

Friends

Who should I send friend requests to?

You should send friend requests to people you would like to share photos with to be displayed on their Nixplay frame, and to people you would like to receive photos from to be displayed on your Nixplay WiFi frame.

How do I invite a person to share photos?

To invite someone:
  1. Go to Main Menu, select Friends
  2. Tap + Add Friend
  3. Enter their name and email address or Nixplay username
  4. Select the playlist from the dropdown menu if the person that you’re sharing with has more than one.
  5. Hit the send request button and you’re done!

How do I select or change which Playlists a friend’s photos go to?

  1. Go to Main Menu, select Friends
  2. Tap Edit on the top right and press the Edit and select the Friend that you would like to apply this change for
  3. In the edit friend screen simply choose the new playlist from the dropdown and press Save Changes
  4. To exit edit mode just tap Done in the top right of the screen

How do I stop photos from a friend going to my frame?

To change where a friends photo is displayed:
  1. Go to Main Menu, select Friends
  2. Tap Edit in the top right and press the edit button for the Friend you wish to change
  3. In the edit friend screen simply choose Don't send to any playlist from the dropdown and press Save Changes
  4. Tap Done

How do I unfriend or remove a friend?

To unfriend someone:
  1. Go to Main Menu, select Friends
  2. Tap the Edit button
  3. Tap the Unfriend button, select who you want to remove and press Confirm

Albums and Playlists

What is the difference between an Album and a Playlist?

The Nixplay Cloud, which the mobile app runs on, consists of both Albums and Playlists. While they may seem similar, they serve very different purposes.

Albums
Every photo you upload to the Nixplay Cloud is stored in an Album preserving its original size and format as well as keeping your precious moments safe.

Playlists
Playlists are used to display photos on your frame in the exact order you want. Playlists can contain a mix of your social media photos as well as photos you have uploaded to a Nixplay Album. All photos added to a playlist will be optimised for the exact model of Nixplay Frame you own saving storage while ensuring your photos look their best.

How do I create an Album?

  1. Select My Photos from the app’s home screen
  2. Tap on My Albums
  3. At the bottom of the screen tap the Create new Album button
  4. Enter a name for your Album and tap Confirm
Your Album is now setup and ready for photos.

How do I add photos to an Album?

  1. From the app's home screen select My Photos
  2. Tap on My Albums
  3. Tap on the Album you wish to add photos to
  4. At the bottom of the screen tap the Add photos button and select from either Camera or your Photo Library.
  5. Select the photo(s) you wish to add and tap Done
  6. Add a caption (optional) and then tap Add photos to Album
Your photo(s) will now be part of your selected Album in the cloud for safe keeping.

How do I create a Playlist?

  1. From the app's home screen select My Photos
  2. Tap on My Playlists
  3. At the bottom of the screen tap the Create new Playlist button
  4. Enter a name for your Playlist and choose if you would like to assign it to your frame. Tap Confirm
Your playlist is now setup and ready to receive photos from friends or you can add photos directly.

How do I delete a photo(s) from an Album or Playlist?

  1. From the app's home screen select My Photos
  2. Select the Album or Playlist that contains the photo(s) you wish to delete.
  3. Tap the Select option in the top right of the App
  4. Tap the photo(s) you wish to delete.
  5. Tap the trash icon and confirm you want to delete the selected photo(s)

How do I delete an Album/Playlist?

Important: Please note that deleting a 'Nixplay Cloud Album' will delete all photos it contains from our platform. If these photos are in use by a playlist(s), then they will also be removed from the playlist when it is next updated.
  1. From the app's home screen select My Photos
  2. Select the Album or Playlist depending on which type you wish to delete.
  3. Tap the Three Dot option against the album or playlist you are trying to delete
  4. Tap Delete Playlist or Delete Album, then Confirm.
Your playlist/ album will now be deleted.

How do I know which of my frames a Playlist will be displayed on?

  1. From the app's home screen select My Photos
  2. Find Playlist that you wish to check and tap the Frame Icon underneath the name of the playlist.
  3. You should now see a section underneath the playlist preview called 'Assign Playlist to Frame'
  4. Tap the toggle button so it says shows the frame that you wish assign that playlist to.

How do I view my photos if I don’t own a frame?

  1. From the app's home screen select My Photos
  2. Tap on My Albums
  3. Tap on the album containing the photos you wish to view
You can also view photos recently sent to you by tapping on the Activity Feed icon on the app's home screen.

Frames

How do I connect/ pair a frame?

Please ensure that you have completed the steps described in the quick start guide and your frame is displaying its 16-digital serial number.

  1. Open the My Frames section either via the menu or the app's home screen
  2. You may get a prompt telling you a frame is waiting to pair. If not tap the Pair a new frame action at the top of the screen to begin searching for frames.
  3. Once your frame is discovered, tap the Pair button and follow the on-screen instructions.

If your frame is not discovered please ensure your frame and mobile are connected to the same WiFi network. If you are still having trouble tap the Enter Serial Number option under the 'Search again' button and follow the on screen instructions

How can I use the mobile app to control my frame?

  1. Open the My Frames section either via the menu or the app's home screen
  2. Tap on the Frame you wish to control
  3. You should be able to see a remote control which you can use to navigate the menus on your frame

The remote control in the mobile app will only work if your frame is connected to WiFi. You can confirm that your frame is online and connected by looking for a green dot next to the icon of your frame.

How can I edit my frame’s settings directly from the mobile app?

  1. Open the My Frames section either via the menu or the app's home screen
  2. Tap on the frame you wish to change the settings for
  3. Tap on the settings icon (right hand side)

What does the “Optimize photos for upload” setting do?

In order to upload photos from your device faster, this option resizes the resolution of your photos to full HD instead of the original full resolution used by your mobile’s camera.

How do I change my password?

To reset your password:
  1. Go to Main Menu, select Account
  2. Enter your Current Password and New Password
  3. Confirm Password and Select Change
Your password has now been changed.
